I experience peace when I choose to live a life of purpose…. Aside from being the title of a great movie (although, spelled Happyness instead), a lot of people fail epically at their own pursuit of happiness and satisfaction in life. It is far more flattering to attribute our wealth to superior character and abilities. and send the message that we who have ‘made it’ into the middle and upper classes are there simply because of our superior virtue and intelligence. However, inner peace is everlasting…I experience peace when I wake up each day seeking Him, His wisdom and guidance. One critic of this movie said that The Pursuit of Happyness and films like it. Happiness will come and go like the wind…because happiness is determined by circumstances…which are forever changing. Every day He has an assignment for me…sometimes big other times small…sometimes long term assignments and others short. I find peace in seeking and living Gods purpose for my existence. I choose a different path…my pursuit is inner peace. But is it happiness we need or inner peace? It seems to be embedded in our western culture to “pursue happiness” and the media has many suggestions of what you need in order to be happy.
